Local collaborative partnership areas
Recommendation three of the review is:
Develop a comprehensive local offer, implemented through collaboration, to widen what is available and enable young people to exercise their choice.
The Strategic Board has decided to make this the main focus of work for Pathways for All. Groups have been set up across the county based on travel to learn patterns, to encourage a collaborative approach to developing post-16 education. These groups are headed up by senior education managers from eight areas of the county, and will work on identifying gaps in provision and how best to work together to ensure that they are filled, and that young people are effectively supported into post-16 education.
The areas are:
- Ashford LCPA - Siobhan Matthews, Deputy Head at The North School
- Canterbury, Faversham and Thanet LCPA - Jon Watson, Chief Executive Officer of The Canterbury Academy Trust (East Kent CEO Group)
- Folkestone and Hythe LCPA - Neala Whybrow, Chief Student Officer at East Kent Colleges Group
- Dover, Deal and Sandwich LCPA - Lee Kane, Headteacher at Astor Secondary School
- Sittingbourne and Sheppey LCPA - Nicki Hodges, Executive Headteacher at Swale Academies Trust
- Maidstone and Malling LCPA - Jim Mawby, Executive Director for Curriculum and Quality at Mid Kent College
- West Kent LCPA (Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and Sevenoaks) - Hilary Burkett, Headteacher at Hillview School for Girls
- Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley LCPA - Steve Gallears, Headteacher at Northfleet Technology College
Getting involved
Once the groups are meeting regularly, there will be opportunities for people working in, or impacted by, the post-16 education sector in Kent to get involved. Look out for communications from your LCPA for more information.
