FASD - Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
Alcohol spectrum condition affects more than 1.2 million people nationwide and yet remains a fairly unknown condition.
This lifelong neurological disorder impacts cognitive development, social and emotional development and communication and interaction. New guidance on FASD released in 2023 outline the need for more training for schools to support pupils with the condition.
Course Objectives:
- To understand what is meant by FASD
- To understand the barriers faced by people with FASD
- To know some strategies for supporting pupils with FASD in the classroom.
