Free Graphical Calculator training sessions

Graphical Calculators for KS5 AS/A2 Mathematics and Further Mathematics, Wednesday 8 Feb 2017

3:45pm - 5:15pm, St Olave’s Grammar School, Orpington, BR6 9SH

This hands-on workshop is aimed at AS/A2 mathematics teachers who wish to learn to use the graphical functionality of a CASIO graphical calculator.  Training will be provided using a CASIO CG20 and will not necessarily assume that delegates have used one before.  It will enable a teacher of AS/A2 C2-C4, FP1 or FP2 to be confident in starting to use the functionality of a CASIO CG20, FX9860GII or FX9750GII graphical calculator. It will be based on the OCR/EdExcel exam board specification but will be useful for all exam board specifications.

Topics covered will be:

• An overview of possible resources: (graphical calculators and graphing software)
• A look at the Casio range and an overview of the MEI CASIO programme
• Using a graphical calculator for C2-C4
• Using a graphical calculator for FP1
• Using a graphical calculator for FP2.

The course will be run by Mr J Davis (St Olave's School) and Mrs K Klus (Rochester Grammar School) who are part of the MEI CASIO graphical calculator programme.

Attendance is free and tea/coffee will be provided.  Booking limited to 30 places. Calculators for use will be provided.
