Kent Youth County Council (KYCC) Elections 7-20 November 2016

Sign up now to be a polling station during the KYCC elections.

Last year over 130 Secondary schools and youth organisations across Kent signed up as a polling station and hosted the KYCC elections, supporting over 30,000 young people to vote for their local KYCC member and the top three issues for young people in Kent!

We are currently recruiting Secondary schools to register as a polling station to support their students to participate in the elections. Schools can sign up at the KYCC website

We are also recruiting candidates aged 11-18 who would like to get involved in KYCC and campaigning on issues important to young people. Young people can sign up online in the elections section of our website.

District Seat - we will elect 48 young people, 4 from each of Kent’s 12 districts. These elections will take place online and via paper ballot in schools and youth organisations.

Community Seat - we will elect 12 young people to represent minority communities across Kent. The election process for community seats will take place alongside the district seat elections, with members elected from relevant, specialist projects. This will ensure democracy, sensitivity and confidentiality for the candidates concerned.

The deadline to register as a polling station or for young people to sign up as a candidate is midday on Wednesday 19 October.
