Threads of Success

Catch up with some of the training that Early Years and Childcare are delivering over the next few months.

Makaton Beginners workshop
The Beginners’ Workshop provides a practical introduction to Makaton for workers, parents and carers  who need to use Makaton in everyday situations, at work and/or at home. You will learn the signs and symbols for Stages 1-4 of the Core Vocabulary plus the Additional Vocabulary. The course is very practical and interactive.

Makaton Follow-up workshop
The Follow-Up Workshop is ideal for workers, family members, parents and carers who have already attended the Makaton Beginners’ Workshop. This workshop covers Stages 5-8 of the Makaton Core Vocabulary and helps you to improve and develop your signing and symbol skills. We will review Stages 1-4 but hope that you will have reminded yourselves of the signs and symbols previously learnt on the Beginners’ Workshop.

Committee Matters
Are you a committee run Early Years or Out of School Setting? Do all committee members feel confident they understand their roles, responsibilities and legal requirements? This course will provide the essential information regarding the roles and responsibilities of the Management Committee, including The Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Guidance, resources and practical tools will be introduced to enable committee members and trustees to have a better understanding of their legal commitments and responsibilities.
