Allergy Awareness Week - education video and materials

Food allergies can be life threatening.

By teaching all children, not just those that have an allergy, about the facts, symptoms, awareness and how to help is a lesson for life.

A.S.A.P is a fun, yet fact finding play brought to you by Kids Active Theatre Company that aims to teach young children a very simple but important lesson for life. For more information to email across to your members of staff visit the Talk Seriously About Allergies website

Reception to Year 3

Please download the educational play online

Streaming Platform

The streaming allows a 72-hour access, something a live performance can't - it can also be used in stages for education and briefing during a lesson or assembly. It works out as little as 0.48p for children to watch, listen and gain knowledge of a potentially life skill.

Allergy Awareness Week 2023

Allergy Awareness Week 2023 is a chance to raise awareness about all allergies, however some allergies can be life threatening and by highlighting the difficulties people have with allergies can help save lives. Because of the growing concern amongst parents feeling helpless when sending their children to school, Allergy Awareness Week is focusing on childhood food allergy and will focus specifically on the tiring journey for parents of babies and toddlers to preschoolers with food allergies.

Allergy UK has released details of new research highlighting the fears and anxieties around the support and guidance available to parents and carers of children with allergies. Parents with children that have food allergies are constantly worried for their safety, constantly worrying if they are sharing food, eating the right school meals and being aware of their surroundings. Constantly saying 'No' you can't do that, 'No' you can't go there, 'No' you can't eat that or 'No' you can't share...

A.S.A.P teaches children four memorable-rules that help to turn these "no's" to "yes's".

  1. A - be Aware of what you see
  2. S - see the Symptoms
  3. A - Ask for help
  4. P - Phone 999 or call the doctor.

There is also a book that accompanies the play which can be purchased online. If you are interested in buying bulk orders for schools to sell to parents, please contact us for a unique 25% discount code.
