Assessment and Moderation information for 2016 including training courses offered by KCC

Assessment and Reporting Arrangements:

The Standards and Testing Agency will not be providing printed copies of the EYFS, KS1 and KS2 Assessment and Reporting Arrangements (ARAs). This year we will once again put the details of the online ARAs into a booklet, which will be downloadable from the Assessment site on KLZ.

Sample Tests:

To help schools prepare for the tests, 2016 sample test materials for key stages 1 and 2 are available already, along with test frameworks for each subject and information about the introduction of scaled scores. Sample materials for the 2016 key stage 1 and key stage 2 national curriculum tests and information about scaled scores and test trialing. This collection comprises a set of test materials including mark schemes and test administration instructions for the 2016 KS1 and KS2 national curriculum tests. It also includes information about scaled scores (assessment without levels) and statutory trialling, both of which are introduced in 2016.

Changes to 2016 tests and assessments new video published A video outlining key changes to tests and assessments for 2016 has been produced for all schools. It outlines the main changes to the tests that will affect schools and details where to go for further information. The video includes a downloadable PowerPoint presentation which can be used for additional training purposes. To help schools prepare for the tests, 2016 sample test materials for key stages 1 and 2 are available already, along with test frameworks for each subject and information about the introduction of scaled scores.

Assessment CPD:

Please view the attached document for details of Assessment and Moderation Training that Kent County Council is offering this academic year. Due to the new assessment arrangements, it is highly recommended that all teachers of Years 2 and 6 attend training in Terms 2 and 3 respectively.
