Bogus DfE calls alert

Kent County Council has been advised that multiple schools have received telephone calls purporting to be from the Department of Education. The person who made the calls asked for the Headteachers email address, however, when asked why they required this information the phone went dead.

Checks made on the calling numbers established they are not linked to the Department for Education.

Please ensure all staff are aware of, and adhere to, internal procedures regarding the release of data.
