We are now pleased to confirm the details of our first two free Cathedral in the Classroom teachers’ events as follows:

    Registration and refreshments from 4pm.
  • Wednesday 3 May 2017 - The Clore Learning Studio at Turner Contemporary, Margate - 4:30pm to 6:30pm.
    Registration and refreshments from 4pm.

Led by Canterbury Cathedral, in partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University Faculty of Education, as part of The Canterbury Journey project.

Teachers will have the opportunity to find out about the Cathedral’s new inspirational learning resources, designed to stimulate enquiry and creativity across the curriculum (including STEM subjects, literacy, history, art and RE), including a new Schools Outreach Programme and Loan Box Scheme.

This free event will include:

  • Having fun, drinking coffee and eating cake
  • Information about the new resources and how to use them
  • Discovering the power of hands-on learning in an object investigation workshop using specially commissioned loans box items
  • Learning about the Cathedral’s Schools Outreach Roadshows in Thanet, Swale and Shepway and how to get involved
  • Chatting to members of the Cathedral’s Learning and Participation team
  • Taking part in our Printing with Herbs activity led by award winning artist, Dawn Cole.

There has already been a high level of interest from local schools and places will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

To book spaces at the event, please complete the booking form (DOCX, 120.4 KB) and return it to journey@canterbury-cathedral.org and you will be sent your itinerary.
