Commonwork’s 40th anniversary celebrations continue at Bore Place

2016 is the 40th year of the Commonwork Trust which was founded by the owners of Bore Place, Neil and Jenifer Wates who moved here in 1976.
To mark the occasion, we’ve planned a year full of events and activities for all ages.

Yoga Garden Party - Saturday 30 July 2016
Now in its third year at Bore Place, a delicious day of treats for the body, mind and soul for the whole family. In aid of the Hope Foundation, raising funds for children in Kolkata, India. Tickets required, see website.
August
Summer Holiday Fun on the Farm - Dates throughout August
All sorts of fun for Primary age children. Pizza making, pond dipping, paper-making, den building, pancake flipping, cookie baking, minibeast hunting.

Kentish Curries - Thursday 8 September 2016
Learn to make a delicious curry and a selection of accompaniments, using local and organic ingredients. You’ll be making a veal curry, saag paneer, chapatis, Pav baji (the most delicious thing!) and everyday dal.
Indulgent Chocoholics - Thursday 22 September 2016
One for the chocolate lovers! Indulge in all things chocolate - tasting, cooking tips and experimenting with unusual chocolate flavour combinations.
Bore Place Bat Walk - Friday 23 September 2016
A nocturnal quest to see bats and their amazing aerial acrobatics. A guided night time walk on footpaths around Bore Place farm, using bat detectors to listen out for bats as they leave their roosts and fly out to catch insects.

Astronomy Evening - Saturday 8 October 2016
Join the Edenbridge and District Astronomers for an evening looking at the night sky. Have a go at solar viewing and look through telescopes to hopefully see Mars, Venus, Saturn and a first quarter moon.
Baking Breads (Part 1) - Saturday 15 October 2016
Explore the science and culture of bread and its basic ingredients. During the day you'll be baking four different breads to take home for your friends and family to enjoy! (Part 2 is coming up in November).
Upcycle! - Saturday 22 October 2016
A crafty day creating and repurposing frames. Bring a photo to frame, learn how to hang it and upcycle an old frame into a chalkboard, mirror, noticeboard.
Hallowe’en Half Term Fun - Tuesday 25 - Thursday 27 October 2016
Hands-on activities for primary age children. Pumpkin carving, muffin baking, apple bobbing, crafting, making bird feeders, minibeast hunting. Pre-booking required.
