Competition for schools offers Mister Maker prize

Pupils striving to be green travel heroes and brilliant bookworms will be in with the chance to meet the star of CBeebies’ Mister Maker.

A competition is being staged for schools signed up to schemes run by the KM Charity Team including Active Wow, Green Footsteps, and Buster’s Book Club.

Participating schools will encourage pupils to make an extra effort to walk to school and meet or exceed their home reading targets on the competition date of Wednesday 4 October.

The best or most improved classes for green travel and reading will be in the running to win a family ticket for the CBeebies' Mister Maker and the Shapes Live tour in October. The prize includes a meet and greet with the star of the show Phil Gallagher.

Simon Dolby of the KM Charity Team said: “Phil is a huge hit with the children so it gives us great pleasure to offer this fantastic prize. I am sure all participating classes will try their hardest to be the ones to claim the top spot.”

Schools can sign up to Active Wow by contacting Sarah Clyne at sclyne@thekmgroup.co.uk or visiting the KM Walk to School website. Join Buster’s Book Club at the Buster's Book Club website or by contacting Charlotte
Hayes at chayes@thekmgroup.co.uk.

Mister Maker and the Shapes Live tour in October includes the Kent dates Margate Winter Gardens on Saturday 14, Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall Theatre on Thursday 26, and Dartford Orchard Theatre on Sunday 29. Visit the Mister Maker website
