Embracing Change - Flourishing Leaders

Rural and small schools conferences 2018.

Following the March 2018 publication of Embracing Change, the Church of England’s report on Rural and Small Schools, we are delighted to invite you to our forthcoming Day Conference, part of series of national events in Autumn 2018, focused on:

  • Leadership Development - recruitment and retention; career pathways, collaborative networks and expansion of the Executive Head role
  • Resources - teaching and learning; sharing of specialist provision, budgets, academisation and economies of scale
  • Community - centrality of schools in small communities, relationship with Church, opportunities for social action and economic impact of schools in rural setting.

Each conference will feature keynote input from Revd. Nigel Genders (Chief Education Officer, Church of England), Dame Alison Peacock (CEO, Chartered College of Teaching), Bishops, LA Portfolio holders, alongside a range of inspirational case studies and collaborative workshops. The conference will also give rural schools the chance to join the Foundation's Peer Support Network, funded for 2 years.
