Finance - Closedown Date 23 March 2018

All schools will be emailed a Closedown pack at the end of January. If you have booked on a Closedown training course please print a Closedown pack and take it with you.

As the Closedown is in March and some of the processes are different from previous years please follow the Closedown guidance carefully. The main changes from last year are as follows:

• Bank Statement Dates - A Bank Statement should be reconciled as close to the 23 March 2018 as possible. For National Westminster Bank Corporate customers we have requested a bank statement for transactions up to and including 16 March 2018. If you bank online you can, of course, print your account transactions at any time. Schools not in the corporate scheme will need to make their own arrangements as required.
• UIFSM - Ledger Code Transaction Listing for I18 - For this year we will require a ledger code report for I18 detailing all transactions processed against this code. Full details are in the Closedown pack.
• Publicity return submittal to CAT enquiries team - This return is no longer required
• Analysis of Year End Balances - Slight changes have been made to this form. Full instructions for completion are included in the Closedown pack.
• Processing year end creditors, debtors and prepayments: As the closedown process is taking place during March, year-end adjustments will be processed as normal / reversing journals. Full instructions for this process are in section 3 of the pack.
• and remember that due to the early closedown date you must not process additional transactions in the old year once you have completed and submitted your year end accounts unless you have been instructed to do so by Schools Financial Services.

The deadline date for early returns is 1 March 2018.
