Fraud Alert - Publication Companies

The Counter Fraud Team has been made aware of several companies that publish a number of magazines designed for schools and educational establishments that are employing aggressive sales tactics.
For example, school’s may be sent a 30 day trial copy of a particular publication, which if not cancelled within the 30 days results in regular copies being sent and subsequent invoices. The individual schools have not agreed to any contract and may not understand what these companies intend to do.
