How to encourage compassionate values in the classroom

Free INSET on how to encourage compassionate values in the classroom
Schools in Kent and Medway are invited to sign up for a free teacher education INSET session, to be delivered in your school or education setting (funded by the #iwill Fund).
Participants will have the opportunity to explore:
- the values we model and encourage in the classroom
- how to help young people discover their shared values
- ways for young people to act positively on the social and environmental issues they care about
Hear about some of the youth-led projects carried out in Kent schools through the ‘Transform Our World’ programme and discover Global Action Plan’s research-backed approach to closing the values-perception gap. The focus will be on nurturing compassionate values, helping teachers/trainee teachers explore where this is already happening in their practice and new opportunities they could introduce. The session will explore those values we, as educators, wish to activate and reinforce in young people.
As a follow-up, participants are asked to provide feedback on an activity they have carried out with a class or group of pupils, which has either been inspired by the training or has embedded learning from the session.
We are taking booking now for dates from February until July (when the programme ends).
If you are interested in taking up this exciting free opportunity for you staff, please email liz.hayes@globalactionplan.org.uk to book a session today!
