Get Ready, Yeti, Go! A fun challenge to keep children reading over the Christmas break

This year’s Winter Mini Reading Challenge runs from 1 December 2018 until 11 January 2019 - it's free to take part and collect rewards

The Winter Mini Reading Challenge encourages children to keep reading through the winter months by rewarding them for rating and reviewing three books at the Winter Reading Challenge website

Kent Libraries are joining forces with The Reading Agency and publisher partner Nosy Crow to run a very special and seasonal There's A Yeti In The Playground themed Mini Reading Challenge with extra special rewards.

There's A Yeti In The Playground is a book filled with laugh-out-loud fun from Blue Peter Award winners Pamela Butchart and Thomas Flintham and we can't wait for children to join in with all the Yeti fun!

The Winter Mini Reading Challenge runs between 1 December 2018 and 11 January 2019. To take part, children simply choose three books to read (and libraries have lots of free books to choose from!). Then log on to Winter Reading Challenge website where children can add each book to their website profile, with the option to leave a short book review. Reading, rating and reviewing three books online over these six weeks will unlock a virtual badge and a special There's A Yeti In The Playground completer’s certificate to print off and keep.

There’s a whole host of activities, quizzes and reading recommendations on the website too.

Once you’ve read your three books, don’t forget to keep reading with Kent Libraries - there’s a whole world of free books to borrow!
