Healing Classrooms: online training September and October 2024

Many schools commented on the quality of the Healing Classrooms training delivered free of charge by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in 2022 and 2023.
This online training programme explores how to provide safe and supportive learning environments for refugee students in schools alongside practical advice and resources on how to incorporate social-emotional learning and trauma-informed pedagogy into the curriculum.
The training is free of charge. The IRC have arranged bespoke sessions for KCC schools.
The Healing Classrooms Basics Training is three one-and-half-hour sessions that provide school staff with the basics of the Healing Classrooms Approach. Sessions feature case studies, discussions and good practice-sharing activities on how to best support refugee students in schools across the UK.
The dates are as follows:
- Monday 23 September
- Monday 30 September
- Thursday 3 October
Each session starts at 4pm.
