Health and Safety update

Given the recent cold spell and the increasing presence of Winter, the Health and Safety Team thought it would be a good time to remind all schools that play equipment should be regularly inspected by a competent organisation to ensure they are in a good working order. If any faults are identified the equipment must be taken out of commission and fixed before using again.

You will need to review your risk assessment to include the suitability of equipment, weather conditions, winter plans for gritting and supervision levels. Risk assessments must be circulated to all school employees involved in activities and reviewed annually or earlier if an accident or incident occurs.
