Independent Review Panel Members (IRP) Headteachers required

Legislation provides an entitlement for parents to request an independent review of a decision to permanently exclude their child from its place of education. If a child is excluded from a Primary or Secondary School, statutory guidance issued by the DfE stipulates that one Independent Review Panel Member must be a current or recently retired Headteacher from the same phase of education.

In order to fulfil this requirement Kent County Council’s Independent Appeals Service is currently looking to recruit Primary and Secondary Headteachers to volunteer as Panel Members. Full training will be provided free of charge on 4 November 2019 from 9:30am to 4:30pm, at Sessions House, County Hall, Maidstone ME14 1XQ.
