KCC asbestos policy and procedures

The asbestos policy and procedures has been reviewed and updated.

Please find the updated asbestos policy and procedures on the premises and contractor management page.

The main changes and updates have been identified below:

  1. Clearly defines roles and responsibilities - what does KCC do and what do we need to on site.
  2. Updates to emergency contacts and flow charts.
  3. A new asbestos management survey - this is being rolled out as part of the KCC three year rolling programme and introduces an "asbestos register" and a "no access register" to the front of the survey. This allows for ease of reference.
  4. No access areas - clearly defines the precautionary management approach on for areas that were not accessed during the survey programme.
  5. Introduction of the Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) for every site. The responsible person is required to complete the AMP for their site. The KCC compliance team will be supporting with the rollout. For support please contact estates.enquiries@kent.gov.uk.

The current asbestos compliance training on Delta E-Learning is being reviewed to reflect these changes and you can expect to see further communications shortly with regards to the launch.
