Kent Community Foundation (KCF) grants

Kent Community Foundation (KCF) would like to share information with Kent schools about the grants that we can award to individuals and families.

KCF has three funding streams that offer support to individuals and families in need, through referral from a professional (such as a member of staff at your school):

  • Wards Charitable Fund - nominate a young person up to the age of 25 with physical disabilities, long term illnesses and/or life limiting conditions. Priority will be given to equipment that directly benefits the mental and physical health of the child.
  • Ivy and Jane Charitable Fund - nominate a young carer up to the age of 18 who looks after someone who has a disability, illness, mental health condition, or a drug or alcohol problem. The fund awards grants to young carers to be used for activities that they might otherwise miss out on.
  • Grassroots Carers Respite Fund - nominate an adult caring for one or more individual over the age of 18, who are seeking a break from their long-term caring responsibilities.

All nominees must be residents of Kent or Medway and demonstrate financial disadvantage.

More information on how to apply on behalf of carers, children and families at the KCF individuals grants page

KCF also has a webpage with useful resources for charities and individuals struggling with the cost of living:

KCF’s Individuals’ Grants Officer, Georgie, is happy to answer any questions and arrange a meeting or call to discuss more by emailing Georgie@kentcf.org.uk.
