Kent Literacy Awards nominations closing soon

With just two weeks left to submit your nominations, now is the time to get involved with the Kent Literacy Awards.

The Kent Literacy Awards are designed to showcase and commend schools using innovative methods to develop pupils’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

Celebrating best practice inside and outside the classroom, the awards scale the county looking for staff going the extra mile to really support the future generations.

Schools can be awarded in a variety of categories which span multiple teaching practices and subjects including Information Technology, Arts and Drama, and Foreign Languages.

Nominations are now open, but there is only a fortnight left to submit ahead of the April 29 deadline.

All winners will be invited to a celebratory awards evening staged at Sittingbourne’s plush Hempstead House Hotel and Spa at the end of June.

A detailed booklet containing all successful submissions will also be produced and submitted to all schools across Kent; furthering the achievements and hopefully inspiring fellow schools to optimise such literacy schemes.

Simon Dolby, chief executive at the KM Charity Team which organises the awards, said: “Schools going above the line of duty to support their students are preparing them for a more fruitful adult life. A good education is simply vital to their wellbeing, and we believe it is important to thank the hardworking staff granting such a gift. We implore you to submit a nomination ahead of April 29.”
