National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP)

Weighing and measuring for Year R and Year 6 pupils.

All Primary school Headteachers will have received a letter from the Local Authority in readiness for starting the weighing and measuring of all Year R and Year 6 pupils as part of the National Child Measurement Programme. Please be aware that delivery of the NCMP is a mandated function for the Local Authority.

The delivery of this programme each academic year is an important part of our local work in Kent to promote healthy weight and lifestyle choices for children. Through the School Public Health Service carrying out programmes such as NCMP, we are able to identify and support children and young people onto a variety of focused interventions including amongst others, support for emotional health and healthy lifestyles through offering packages of care. The service will also signpost and refer onto specialist provision if required.

We thank you for your continued support and partnership working with Kent Community Health (NHS) Foundation Trust (KCHFT), the provider for the School Public Health Service, in order that they can access your school and pupils to carry out the weighing and measuring programme.
