Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) Induction – Register with Kent now!

Have you any NQTs starting their induction period from September 2015?

If you have newly qualified teachers (NQTs) starting their induction period from September 2015, have you considered the following?

  1. NQTs must be registered with an Appropriate Body in order for them to start their induction period. To register them with the Kent Induction Team, log in to your NQT Manager account at www.kent-teach.com, and select NQT Manager. Alternatively contact the team using the details below.
  2. Are you aware of the training available to NQTs? We offer a district training programme for Primary NQTs and a 'Guide to Successful Induction' event for both Primary and Secondary NQTs. For information regarding the primary programme and to book a place, visit www.kentcpdonline.org.uk. For information on the 'Guide to Successful Induction' events, please refer to the information in the attached document.
  3. If you are new to NQT Induction mentoring or haven't attended our induction training since 2012, we recommend you book on to a session to refresh your knowledge. The training will cover key points from the statutory guidance and NQT entitlements, look at how to write the termly assessments, look at the NQT cause for concern procedure allowing time for an individual question and answer session for specific queries. For information regarding this and to book a place, visit www.kentcpdonline.org.uk or select the hyperlink in the attached document.

We would like to invite NQTs who are starting their induction period in September 2015 to attend a welcome event focusing on "A Guide to Successful Induction".  The interactive presentation will be delivered by the NQT Induction team and is aimed at both Primary and Secondary NQTs who are due to commence their induction in September 2015.   The following points will be covered at the sessions:

  • how to prepare for the induction year
  • the importance of being proactive and open to mentoring
  • types of evidence NQTs should be gathering to demonstrate they are meeting the Teachers' Standards
  • opportunity for NQTs to ask individual questions about their induction, as well as to network with other NQTs in their district.

We offer a free place to NQTs who are registered with us on NQT Manager for a September start.   Please note that any schools that have not registered their NQTs on NQT Manager by the end of September 2015, will be charged £50 retrospectively for attending the 'Guide to Successful Induction' event.
