Power For Good - Anti-Bullying week and MANTIS
14 October 2016
Anti-Bullying week coordinators - the Anti Bullying Alliance, partner with MANTIS to offer children a National self-protection programme.
Anti-Bullying week is coordinated with the Anti-Bullying Alliance, and this year it takes place from 14-18 November.
A recent survey found that 87% of the schools that take part in Anti Bullying Week say that it improves the school’s anti-bullying practice and 83% saying it increases levels of respect and kindness.
This year’s theme is Power for Good and amongst the key aims are:
- to support children and young people to understand the ways in which they are powerful and encourage action to stop bullying
- to encourage all teaching and support staff to value the difference they can make in a child’s life.
As part of your school's plans for Anti-bullying week, you can take part in a new national initiative called the Children’s Protector. Developed by MANTIS and endorsed, supported and partnered by the Anti Bullying Alliance, hosted by the National Children’s Bureau, this initiative is accessible to all children and young people, and will introduce them to a series of tools that can empower them and keep them safe. It is fully accessible to all, and is delivered in a non-threatening risk free and positive environment.
The Children's Protector can be adapted to suit the individual needs of your school.
