Safer Internet Day resources from The Education People

Free #SaferInternetDay Challenge for schools and families.

Safer Internet Day (#SID2020) is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people and inspire a national conversation. Various teams within The Education People have been supporting and encouraging schools and settings to participate in Safer Internet Day for many years.

This year Safer Internet Day takes place on the 11 February 2020 and the focus is "together for a better internet."

With this in mind, The Education People's Online Protection team (Education Safeguarding Service) and Kent Children's University have been working together for the first time to produce a #SID2020 Challenge pack for children aged 5 to 14.

This pack will contain 10 key challenge activity ideas as well as useful resources for children, schools and families to access. The Challenge will run until the 6 March 2020 so there is plenty of time to get involved.

The Safer Internet Challenge will launch to schools and families on #SID2020 through The Education People and Kent Children's University websites as well as shared through the Kelsi e-bulletin and Social Media. If you would like to receive the Challenge pack direct in your mailbox on 11 February, please email enquiries@theeducationpeople.org.

Young people who are part of Children’s University can earn a varying number of Learning Credits for each activity completed outside normal school time.
