Save the date! Rainbow Laces sport campaign week: 19 - 25 September.

We hope you can join #RainbowLaces to show all young people that sport is about acceptance without exception and they can be part of making a difference.

Rainbow Laces is a campaign to bring people together to show that lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people are welcome in sport at all levels, including in school sport and further education. Schools, colleges and local authorities can make a real difference in showing that there is no place for homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in sport.

LGBT young people often experience bullying and abuse in sport. As a result 68 per cent of lesbian, gay and bi pupils say they don’t like team sports, and 41 per cent of trans young people said they would not join a sports club.

You can get involved by planning a day of activity, such as an assembly, activity with sports teams in your area, a student-led info stall or booking a sporting role model to share their experiences (email schoolrolemodels@stonewall.org.uk to book). Let us know what you're up to and we're happy to support and share.

Matthew Perry, Head of PE at Rokeby School in Newham ran the campaign last year and had some fantastic responses and support from pupils for Rainbow Laces.

You can order Rainbow Laces in bulk for your students at £1 per pair (minimum order 100 pairs). Order here.
