School Diversity Week

The charity Just Like Us (JLU) celebrate School Diversity Week annually; a celebration of LGBT+ inclusion within education that takes place at the end of the month (Monday 26 to Friday 30 June).

School Diversity Week is our annual celebration of LGBT+ inclusion within education that takes place at the end of June. It’s JLU’s largest programme, with our free resources reaching over 5,000 primary and secondary schools across England and Wales.

The aim of School Diversity Week is to help schools to engage with LGBT+ inclusive education, no matter what level of prior experience they may have. Whether it’s a whole timetable of ready-to-go, curriculum-focused lessons on LGBT+ themes, a series of form times and assemblies or even fundraising events on Rainbow Friday, School Diversity Week is designed to be picked up and used by teachers no matter their confidence and bring LGBT+ lives and stories to life for pupils in classrooms across the country.

To take part in School Diversity Week, sign up through the JLU website to get access to our online portal of free resources you can download to use, and get planning how you want to celebrate School Diversity Week at your school this June!
