Sing when you’re winning

Still time for Primary and Nursery school choirs to enter the KM Walk to School Contest and win the chance to perform in a professional recording studio.

The competition, which is run by the KM Charity Team, is open to schools, classes, walking buses or groups of friends. To enter, all they need to do is create their own version of this year’s song Zip A Dee Doo Dah from the Disney film Song of the South before the deadline of noon on May 22.

Up to six groups of finalists will take to the microphone at Kent recording studio Independent Music Productions where judges will decide the winner. The overall champions will also have the chance to perform the song in front of audiences at two major events staged by the KM Charity Team in 2018.

Simon Dolby of the KM Charity Team said: “Each year we’re flabbergasted by the quality of entries we receive and look forward to rewarding the best and most creative choirs with their moment in the spotlight. It’s a joy to put on this contest as the children are so excited when they receive the pop star treatment at the studio.”

The annual competition is run by the walk to school division of the KM Charity Team and supported by Three R’s Teacher Recruitment.
