GEN² statutory compliance training September 2017

GEN² who act on behalf of KCC as Managing Agent on all property matters are running a day of statutory compliance training starting with Asbestos and Fire in the morning, and Water Hygiene in the afternoon.

The following sessions have been arranged free of charge.

The dates and venues are as follows:

West Kent - Hall - Gravesend AEC, Darnley Rd, Gravesend DA11 0RX

  • Fire - (am only) - 19 September 2017 - 9:30am-10:30am
  • Asbestos - (am only) - 19 September 2017 - 10:30am-1pm
  • Water Hygiene - (pm only) - 19 September 2017 - 2pm-4:30pm

Mid Kent - SHQ - Lecture Theatre, Sessions House, Maidstone ME14 1XQ

  • Fire - (am only) - 21 September 2017 - 9:30am-10:30am
  • Asbestos - (am only) - 21 September 2017 - 10:30am-1pm
  • Water Hygiene - (pm only) - 21 September 2017 - 2pm-4:30pm

East Kent - Theatre - Dover Discovery Centre, Dover CT16 1PH

  • Fire - (am only) - 20 September 2017 - 9:30am-10:30am
  • Asbestos - (am only) - 20 September 2017 - 10:30am-1pm
  • Water Hygiene - (pm only) - 20 September 2017 - 2pm-4:30pm

Asbestos training will cover the following issues:

  • Asbestos facts and health effects
  • Asbestos regulations (CAR 2012)
  • KCC policy and procedures
  • Management survey process
  • Removal process
  • Emergency and responsive situations
  • Key points and case studies.

Fire training will cover the following issues:

  • KCC policy
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Fire safety risk assessment.

Water Hygiene will cover the following points:

  • What is Legionella
  • Legislation (ACOP L8 and HASAW Act 1974)
  • Case studies
  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Risk assessment survey process
  • Training procedures
  • Water sampling
  • Escalation procedure.

The outline of the relevant sessions is to make everyone aware of their obligations under the current legislation and will explain how these will be met.

Please note that no refreshments will be provided, however, you are able to purchase food at all venues or in the locality.

New process - reserving your seat

We have put in place a new booking process.

If you would like to book a place on any of the above training dates being offered please let us know by emailing Asbestos.Enquiries@kent.gov.uk supplying the following information:

  1. Full name of delegate attending
  2. OEN number of KCC employee
  3. Full school address

Please note that fire is included in the asbestos session.

Please note the following:

  • Completed forms sent to the above email address will be allocated seats. Do not send your requests to any other email addresses.
  • There is no charge for this training, however, non attendance or late cancellations may be charged to your team’s budget.
  • Ensure that you have confirmed your place prior to attending training - so that there is a record of your attendance.

Deadline for requesting places is Wednesday 13 September.
