Turner Contemporary’s Portfolio competition is open for entries

Enter the competition, Portfolio, for the chance to exhibit your artwork as part of Turner Contemporary’s 2017 Summer Exhibition.

Portfolio is Turner Contemporary and Canterbury Christ Church University’s annual art competition for pupils, students and teachers in Kent and Medway.

This year, for the first time, your work will be showed alongside pupils from Kenya as part of their competition, MASK - a competition celebrating the creative work of African children and young people.

Winning entries from both competitions will be displayed together at Turner Contemporary in Margate and at the Nairobi National Museum in Kenya.

The Theme: Making a Change

This year’s theme explores how art has the power to change attitudes, people and places.

‘Making a Change’ could be interpreted in many ways: think about the changing seasons, metamorphosis or growing older. How do things change over time?

It could be a change you would like to make to the world or it could be a change that has happened to you. It could be a photograph, a painting, a sculpture.

Anything can make a change.

Who can enter?

You can enter your art work if you are:

  • Any pupil or student aged 4-18 years in Kent or Medway
  • A professional working in an educational establishment with 4-18 year olds in Kent or Medway.
  • A current teacher training student studying in Kent or Medway.
