The Kent Safeguarding Children Board will be holding two training courses over the coming months.
Signs of Safety: Awareness for Multi-Agency Staff
‘Signs of Safety’ is being adopted by Kent County Council’s Early Help and Preventative Services and Specialist Children’s Services as the overarching practice framework for all its work with children, young people and their families. It is a purposeful and collaborative way of working with families to secure the best outcomes for children and young people.
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Introduce the concept of ‘Signs of Safety; to multi-agency staff working with children and young people
- Understand how ‘Signs of Safety’ is being used in Child Protection Conferences
- Raise staff awareness as to what will be required from them at Child Protection Conference.

This event will provide an overview of the key findings and recommendations from Operation Lakeland, SCR’s from Other Local Authorities that relate to children placed in Kent and Serious Case Reviews recently completed in Kent.
This is open to frontline practitioners and managers from all agencies.
