Leadership Suite Programmes 2017

The New Horizons Teaching School Alliance (NHTSA), are pleased be in a position to offer another cohort of the Leadership Suite Programmes to start in February 2017 for teaching and support staff at different stages of their careers. The courses will be organised and led with the UCL Institute of Education (UCL/IOE) and based at Strood Academy.

In brief, the courses are designed for leaders/aspiring leaders to reflect upon the behaviours required to lead effectively. These courses could lead to the more practitioner based programmes of NPQML, NPQSL and NPQH

Teacher Subject Specialism Training 2017


Free to all Schools - Starting January 2017

Designed for teachers who are currently teaching MFL, Mathematics or Physics outside of their specialism subject, or who wish to offer teaching in MFL, Mathematics or Physics. The programme is also suitable for those returning to teaching MFL, Mathematics or Physics. The core five day programme alongside online modules will improve both subject knowledge and classroom practitioner skills, allowing you to confidently teach up to GCSE with an optional add on course for AS/A2 knowledge also available.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a place on the programme, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must have QTS but do not have an initial teacher training specialism in the subject you are applying for
  • You are currently teaching in a maintained Secondary school, maintained or non-maintained Special school or academy, or you are a qualified teacher, not currently teaching, who wishes to return to teaching
  • Your school is willing to support your application and provide opportunities to attend all face to face taught sessions.
