You may have noticed the Next Year menu on the Budget Planning Software (BPS). This should not be used until after you have attended the Budget Setting training. Full details will be given during the training sessions and guidance will be uploaded to the BPS.

There are very few spaces still available on the Budget Setting on the Budget Planning Software (BPS) training courses. If you haven't booked your place yet, please check CPD Online for details.

Financial Management and Best Practice Tips

Checking and Authorising Payroll Reports – processes for evidencing the checking and authorising of the payroll:

  • The finance officer should check the payroll report
    monthly and investigate any anomalies
  • The finance officer should then sign and date the report to evidence it has been checked
  • The headteacher (or designated person as per the Finance Policy) should check and authorise the payroll report monthly in full
