Working in Partnership to Support Adopted Children and Young People in Education

The training is being provided by Kent’s Post Adoption Support Service.

We are pleased to invite schools to attend a free workshop, in partnership with an adoptive parent, exploring the needs of adopted children with attachment challenges in school.

The invitation is extended to all staff in education establishments.

In the workshop we will look at the following themes:

  • What is attachment and why is it important?
  • Providing an overview of the Educational Support Structure
  • Develop educational staff’s understanding of early trauma, loss and attachment challenges
  • Provide evidence informed practical strategies to support and include adopted children and young people

There will also be the opportunity to think about alternative strategies and reflect upon your own experiences of supporting adopted children within your school.
