'Worried about a young person's mental health' poster and webpage for schools

Young people told us that how adults approach them to talk about mental health is just as important as what they say.

Our participation team worked with a group of young people who discussed the impact of being approached by a teacher or staff member, about their mental health.

As well as offering tips on getting it right, they included links to mental health first aid training for staff and the importance of recognising your own mental health and wellbeing needs. They created posters for school staff and asked for them to be displayed in adult only spaces like staff rooms, offices and staff toilets and a dedicated new webpage that pulled together all three was created on the Kent Resilience Hub. The Mental Health Friends handbook is also available to provide support to young people.
