Generation Genome

The KMTV science series Generation Genome invites schools and science teachers to their live stream premiere on Tuesday 20 September at 11:15am.

KMTV are delighted to invite you and your school to the premiere of Generation Genome streaming live from Wellcome Connecting Science at the Wellcome Genome Campus from 11:15am to 12:15pm on Tuesday 20 September. This online event is free for all schools.

In six action-packed television episodes Generation Genome takes its young audience on a thrilling exploration of cutting-edge science, placing them at the centre of a debate about genetics and genomic health and the impact it will have on their future lives. Content is aligned to the science curriculum for 13 to 16 year olds.

Join us virtually alongside thousands of other young people from schools all around the world to watch the launch episode and take part in a lively debate with a panel of world leading scientists and young people.

You’ll also find out how to access the whole series and a range of accompanying teaching and learning resources - all free and offered on an open access basis.

The series was made by KMTV Creative Productions in collaboration with world-leading researchers at the University of Kent and the British Film Institute. It was coproduced with hundreds of young people aged thirteen to sixteen, located at schools across the UK together with scientists and subject experts.

We are thrilled that Wellcome Connecting Science is hosting the launch. Wellcome Connecting Science’s mission is to enable everyone to explore genomic science and its impact on research, health and society. The day will be an amazing engagement opportunity for young people, teachers, educations professionals and scientific researchers alike.

All you need to do is register using Eventbrite and arrange your screening at your school, organisation or in the comfort of your own home or office. We will do the rest. Further information including a joining link and a teacher’s resource page will be sent well ahead of the event to everyone who has registered.

We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 20 September.
