SENCOs free Lifeskills Toolkit

Free educational resource developed to help young people with SEN in Kent mainstream schools. It encourages safe, independent living reducing the risk of harm.

Developed by Trading Standards, the resource consists of 12 modules.

Teachers are provided with:

  • online teachers notes
  • easy read quiz
  • answer sheet for students
  • teacher score sheet
  • quiz questions for use with Clicker 6 software
  • a printable certificate of achievement.

Subjects covered:

  • age restricted products
  • community safety
  • doorstep crime
  • food and hygiene
  • home fire safety
  • labels, signs and symbols
  • managing money
  • safer independent pedestrians
  • scams
  • shopper's rights (PDF, 204.9 KB)
  • social media and the internet
  • who can help.
