Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) toolkit

This toolkit has been created as a guide to support pupils with SEMH in the school setting, as well as help educational practitioners support pupils with SEMH to thrive in their mainstream setting socially, emotionally and academically.

The toolkit has been developed as a guide for classroom practitioners, teaching assistants and pastoral staff - it should not be used as a means to diagnose SEMH but instead as a resource to enable a school or academy to develop their systems and processes; to identify and support pupils who are struggling with their mental health and wellbeing; and to seek the right provision whilst using the graduated approach - assess-plan-do-review.
