SEND strategy
The aim of this strategy is to improve the educational, health and emotional well-being outcomes for all of Kent's children and young people with special educational needs and those who are disabled (SEND).
The SEND Strategy was widely consulted on with schools and one of its key aims is to ensure Kent can successfully implement the changes for SEN set out in the Children and Families Act, including the move away from statements to integrated education, health and care plans.
SEND Code of Practice
The reforms also includes a revised SEN Code of Practice, together with new funding arrangements for high needs pupils, represent some of the biggest changes to SEN since Warnock more than 30 years ago.
The SEND Code of Practise provides statutory guidance for the implementation of the reforms of the Children and Families Act 2014.
